Custom Guitar Projects:
Matt has worked on a couple of custom guitar projects recently. One is a “partscaster,” where he gathered all of the necessary body parts, electronics and hardware and then assembled everything to his specifications. The other is a custom upgrade, where he took an existing guitar and modified it to make it his own.
Custom made “MD Bodgecaster” – body by Bodge Guitars, UK | neck by Warmoth Guitar Products | bridge modded by Bridgeworks | Birdseye Maple custom pickups by Reed James Engineering | Walnut with Birdseye Maple knobs by Archipelago Glass | Graphtech Ghost hexpander and acoustiphonic systems installed | Grover Mini-Roto locking tuners | Custom “MD Bodgecaster” waterslide headstock decal
Customized “MD Leo 1977” American Standard Stratocaster, 2001 – original electronics gutted and replaced with Red Gumwood pickguard and tremolo plate | Cocobolo custom pickups by Reed James Engineering | Cocobolo knobs by Archipelago Glass | Cocobolo switch tip by DK Knob | Graphtech Ghost hexpander and acoustiphonic systems installed | Schaller locking mini-tuners | Laser etched “MD” in hieroglyphs on pickguard; “Leo 1977” on back tremolo plate
